A few final thoughts and good bye for now....

What a wonderful adventure this has been. First our time in Romania with Michael and his family, followed by a two week visit with Cristina and family in Virginia.
A few final photos to end our adventures and share a little of Virginia....
Cristina loves her garden, spring has sprung in the Sequino Garden.

Grampy and Greyson make bottle rockets for Cub Scouts, look at the focus on these two...lol
And Grampy helping the girls fish on Sophia's field trip to study pond life. Boy that Grampy is pretty amazing!

And now we say farewell. We hope you have enjoyed coming along with us on our first blog adventure, but all good things come to an end as has this adventure.
Signing off, Augusto and Catherine/Kay

The amazing "Danube Delta"...

Our last roadtrip was to the Danube Delta, what an amazing adventure we all had in one of the world's most spectacular wildlife protected areas! Augusto and Vicki enjoy the Danube Delta waterways

A tiny Ukrainian village in an isolated portion of the Delta only accessible via boat.

A Delta resident
A typical house in the village, blue is thought to bring good luck.

If you would enjoy more photos and information regarding the Delta please check out...Postcards from the Danube Delta

An apartment in Vienna...

How can you visit Vienna and not attend the obligatory concert? We had a delightful evening listening to Strauss and Mozart. Was hard at times not to pop up and waltz. We were all tapping and swaying along. We sat in a beautiful parlor, must have been like days of old, in the Kersalon Palace. One simply cannot go to Vienna and not try Sacher Torte at the Sacher Hotel tea room. This is the real deal, the original.
I definately needed to stop and visit the famous Cafe Central, the very place where Trotsky and his fellow political commrades passed away the hours.

Vicki and Terry make a new friend!
All good things must end and so does our time in Vienna. We now are off to Bucharest with a tour of the Danube Delta planned.
auf wierdersehen,

"I want to bite your neck...." or a sunny day in Trannsylvania

An authentic painting (fresco) of Vlad, the man the Dracula stories are based upon at his true birthplace, Sighisoara. "Great Knockers"...anyone remember the movie, "Young Frankenstein"?

And finally, the Bran Castle which inspired Bram Stocker in the writing of his novel, "Dracula".

Someone call a nurse!

My oh my...
We needed a nurse cuz boy have we been sick! It all started when Terry became ill at Michael's house. He recovered and we all headed out to visit Bran's castle "Dracula". We stayed at a rustic ski lodge the first night, which required transport by a 4 wheel drive jeep/truck. Unfortunately, I then became ill on the road. I will spare you the details but it was not pretty. Two days later, we finally arrived home, at Michael's house, only to have Augusto become ill during the middle of the night. Poor Marina she was becoming a nurse to her visitors. We then headed off to Vienna and on the first evining there Vicki became ill, although with what appears to have been a milder version. We arrived back a Michael's today and are hopeful that we are all done with illness. Tomorrow we head off on yet another road trip... the Danube Delta. We hope to all travel and end our stay in Romania in good health...lol.
